A third place to be decided. links to our registries at www.theknot.com/ourwedding/carriegustavs that mystery is partly solved. Ordered invitations this weekend, and am waiting for the proofs. Wow, its really happening!

Now that I am back from the US Go Congress, I have nowhere else to run away to from wedding planning. This weekend, Saul and I are going up to Spring Glen to do some of the planning that needs to happen locally to our wedding site. I realise that this is a long list, that probably won't be finished by Monday, but if we get half of it done I will feel accomplished. We also need to order Invitations. Save the Date cards have all been sent out (FINALLY!) some people won't be getting them, because our list grew after they had been made (oops!). Today, I'm going to a local bridal boutique, to look at flower girl dresses. In the rush to get my bridesmaids taken care of I completely forgot about our flower girls! Hopefully sometime this week (or next) we'll get those ordered. Also going to hit Michaels or another crafts store for random things that need to get done. Maybe I can get Saul home in time to go look at wedding bands sometime this week. *~**pretty sparklies**~*

After going to three different bridal shops, I had brought the decision down to two dresses. We brought my mom's friend Dawn with us, because she has similar tastes to mine. She has a wardrode filled with Renaissance Faire dresses and such. Since my time is limited, we have to buy a dress off the rack (or start from scratch and have a seamstress make one, and hope s/he has time before October). Both dresses need alterations to make them fit. The Queen Dress would need major alterations to make the sleeves. The major problem is that I live 2,000 miles away in NY, and need to hire a seamstress out there for a second fitting and final alterations. Bridal people have a twisted sense of time. Three months is like tomorrow for them! Today we went to the two shops where each dress was and I tried them on for comparison, and decisions. They are two very different dresses. ...we bought one of them....Saul isn't allowed to see it until I walk down the aisle on October 21st. This afternoon I go in for a fitting. ( Sneak Peek ) This weeks problems: Make Save the Date Cards Mail Save the Date Cards Next Week's problem's: Bridesmaid's Dresses Invitations Flowers Favors I fly back on August first, and family is coming out to visit for most of next week. Running out of time. X posted in

After my graduation from RIT, a caravan of cars drove down to Long Island carrying boxes of photo gear, books,clothes,..., Saul and myself, and my parents. I'm surprised that my car actually made it just fine! We've now moved into our new apartment in Centereach, New York (on Long Island). It's close to campus, so Saul can still make it to work/classes without a long commute. We're in a nice neighborhood and our apartment is very nice (I posted pics in my lj a few weeks ago). I've been spending my days unpacking boxes and catching up on all the anime and television I d/l'd before the move. Right now we don't have internet, which has made life a bit prehistoric...but occasionally we catch a wireless network, which gives me enough to check my email. Saul spends most the day at work. We get our evenings together; which usually includes dinner and watching anime or playing video games. This wednesday we hit the LI Go Club, it felt good to play some go irl. Tonight we're playing some LG D&D, which makes me so very happy...I haven't had my rp gaming fix in months now! (just so long as they don't treat me like the newbie again...grr) Our weekends have been pretty full. Last weekend we went to a friends wedding, visited with Saul's family, and then spent a day in CT visiting my T-town friends ^_^ . Now that I live so close, I intend on spending more time in CT...I miss you all so very much!! This weekend we have scheduled appointments with caterers for the wedding "upstate" (boy that still sounds weird, not yet used to the LI concept that anything north of Manhattan is "upstate" NY). Diane has been making the arrangements, finding caterers that have good vegetarian menus (yum!). We're thinking a sit-down dinner, as opposed to buffet style. The food is usually better, and people don't have to spend time waiting in line like the grade school lunch line. I'm also looking forward to sampling bakery's cakes...mmmm!!! I'm going to be flying out to UT for ~a month starting the end of June. That's when I'll be making dress arrangements, and doing the planning with my mom. It will be nice to spend some time at home with my family before the wedding. I'm really looking forward to it. (although Saul isn't looking forward to being by himself again.) That's pretty much it for now, I'm still trying to get Saul to post something here...tune in next time for more!

I think today marked a special milestone in affirming that my nerves have adjusted back to a sense of normalcy? I brought my engagement ring in to get sized...so right now my hand is empty, which is exactly how my fingers feel. It's quite an odd feeling, like when I was first adjusting to feeling it there. Now, for a week, I have to stop panicking when I realise that it's not there.

"Will you marry me?" "Of course I will!" This livejournal is where we will be posting updates on wedding plans. Since we've only been engaged for little more than a week, there is little to update at the moment.
